The following was written in 2005. It is almost 9 years that the three topics have taken
some minor changes. The e-Platform idea is still a concept that is not fully realized,
even the word 'platform' has been used to promote a one-stop web location that one can
conduct activities that are consumer-targeted. We have push that concept to services in
the cloud ('services cloud') to lower the entry barrier with metered IT services and
services are SaaS to serve multiple e-Platforms.

As far as the subtopics are concerned, cyber logistics is still lacking, big data give
excitement to decision making, and AOLA and Technology in Mathematics are lost in
beer drinking. Focus is shited to NFC and smartphone after a successful project that
implement both RFID and its associated IT technology in a garment supply chain.
RFID is, from my perspective, again in the back burner. Anyhow, we are off
